Hi, my name is Christopher Douglas Nayler, owner and operator of Douglas Works. I was born and raised in Peterborough, Ontario and this town and it’s surrounding areas mean a lot to me. I am passionate about all things outdoors, so being able to work outside is kind of a dream come true for me.

Prior to opening Douglas Works, I worked in the automotive industry for 16 years (licensed since 2011). While I enjoyed problem solving and working with my hands, I was never truly satisfied with being a mechanic and have always wanted a career that would allow me to be outside as much as possible. I am passionate about providing high quality and individualized property maintenance, landscaping, moving and small renovation services to my clients.

The name Douglas Works came from a combination of my middle name (Douglas) and inspiration from my step dad’s long standing contracting business (Stratton Works of Peterborough).  My step dad is extremely knowledgeable, and an amazing teacher. He has been a great mentor to me over the years. The word “Works” allows the business to provide services in a wide variety of categories and leaves room for expansion into other avenues in the future.
